Wilderness Travel Journal
I’m the kind of traveler that likes to jot things down along the way, to remember what I saw, experienced, and enjoyed (or didn’t). Funny stories, beautiful scenery, amazing meals, or nightmarish travel catastrophes - I write them down, because the entirety of these notes and photos will tell the story of a memorable trip. I take on this responsibility for my family, even though I’m probably the one who enjoys it the most. I carry this need to record and remember things into my spiritual journey as well.
These notes are not polished - in fact they are often messy, written on receipts or brochures, maps or ticket stubs. All of them are the raw materials that will make up the full story at some point, perhaps. If not, they will at least pop up in the bottom of a coat pocket or purse some day and recall that memory back to mind.
This section is just that - urgent revelations, lessons learned through research and study, quotes from friends, many coming straight from the Notes app on my iPhone. The Wilderness journey doesn’t follow an itinerary that I have made - it is God who leads, guides and teaches. Some of them might make it over to a more polished story, but many won’t. It’s my safe place for things that were valuable to me on the journey.
